Terms of Service
Last updated: August 22, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of goaura.org and Aura (the "Service"), provided by Aura ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, including by requesting early access, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we serve
The Service is intended for Catholic parishes, dioceses, and their authorized staff and volunteers for legitimate parish administration. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized by your parish or diocese to use the Service.
2. Service description and fees
Aura provides parish and diocesan administration software, including household records, sacramental registers, and contribution management, plus optional email and SMS messaging and document storage billed on actual use. Features and pricing are as displayed at activation or checkout (currently $19/parish/mo base plus $0.25/1k emails and $10.25/1k SMS for messaging and $0.15/GB for storage where applicable). Early-access requests reserve a place when capacity is limited and do not guarantee immediate access. We may update features and pricing with notice; material changes will be communicated and will not retroactively affect fees already incurred. You are responsible for fees for your activated parish(es) until cancellation.
3. Accounts and responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of credentials, limiting access to authorized users, and ensuring all information you provide is accurate and lawful. Parishes remain responsible for the accuracy of parishioner data they entrust to the Service and for obtaining any necessary permissions.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including: attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with security or availability, uploading unlawful or infringing content, or using the Service to send spam or violate applicable law (including CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and data protection laws for any messaging). We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms.
5. Parishioner data and privacy
Parishioner data you provide to the Service remains yours. For such data you are the controller and we are the processor, handling it only on your instructions. Our handling of site, contact, account, and usage information is described in our Privacy Policy. You must ensure you have a lawful basis for any personal data you provide.
6. Intellectual property
We retain ownership of the Service, our trademarks (including "Aura"), and content we provide. You retain ownership of content you provide. You grant us a limited license to host and process your content solely to operate the Service on your behalf.
7. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third parties (e.g., email/SMS delivery, hosting). Your use of integrated services remains subject to their terms where applicable, but we remain responsible for our Service to you.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 if you have not paid us.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Aura harmless from claims arising from your content, your use of the Service in violation of law or these Terms, or your parishioner's data you provide.
11. Term and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms or risks harm to the Service or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post updates and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via the site or email where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Venue for disputes will be in the state or federal courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, unless otherwise required by law. Contact: hello@goaura.org.
